El poblado artesanal reune desde los años 80 a artesanos, escultores, tejedores y orfebres que viven y producen en ese lugar, allí fue creada la primera Cámara de Turismo de Arica en 1981 y es punto de visita obligada para el turista.
Se construyó como una réplica de un pueblo del altiplano, con su campanario y cercado característicos. Además de artesanías se encuentra junto a el un restaurant de comida típica chilena
El Poblado Artesanal is a replica of a small altiplano village built in the eighties. Craftsmen, sculptors, local jewelers and artesans live and work in this locality. It was created by the first Chamber of Tourism, Arica in 1981 and it is a place tourist must see.
The campanario and cercado are replicas of the church from the village of Parinacota in the altiplano. And there is also a restaurant with typical chilean meals at a side of El Poblado.
